Jenson Fisher is delighted to be working with our award-winning client Cake Décor in Cumbernauld to appoint a Management Accountant on a permanent, full time basis. Cake Décor are professional, fast-paced, challenging, and we are the largest manufacturer of edible cake decorations and toppings in the UK, producing an extensive range for leading Grocery retailers, food manufacturers and specialist artisan bakers. Originally a family business, their site in Cumbernauld has retained its innovative and creative culture working hand-in-hand with our customers to develop bespoke lines and solutions by combining our exceptional technical expertise with trend-led applications. Having achieved impressive growth over the years, Cake Décor have been part of the OV Group since May 2021 with sister sites in Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany as well as four sites here in the UK as a business unit of Orkla ASA, a leading Nordic supplier of branded consumer goods.

Management Accountant – Cake Decor
The Management Accountant role interfaces with key contacts across the business with a reporting line into the Head of Finance and the successful candidate would critically be responsible for the production of management accounts on a monthly basis and leading the month end process with the support of a small yet established finance team.

The position of Management Accountant within Cake Décor will suit an individual with a strong sense of business and with strong levels of commerciality. You will have experience working in fast paced, dynamic environments previously and will be in possession of your full accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) or deem yourself Qualified by Experience.

On a day to day basis your responsibilities will include:
• Production of monthly management accounts and presenting to the Senior Management Team.
• Involvement in Group reporting.
• Variance analysis and ad-hoc financial reporting.
• Closing the month end for the Cumbernauld site.
• Support business decision making through the provision of first class financial information.
• Oversee transactional finance, ensuring that deadlines are met.
• Maximising the efficiencies within the finance department.
• Budgeting and forecasting for the business.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and overseeing the bank.
• VAT returns and intrastat reporting.

Person Specification
• Fully Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience.
• Prior experience working within a fast paced, commercial environment.
• Previous experience working as a Management Accountant.
• Strong user of financial systems.
• Confident self starter with the ability to influence across the business.
• Strong communicator who can communicate financial information to non-financial people.
